I tried to think of ways in which we could reuse elements, use different icons, reorganize the layout, even trying to make the preset AOIs more useful. Databases such as LinkedIn, Yelp, and Airbnb provided insight on how to design for complex search requirements. Wireframes of the user flow were created in Sketch and reviewed with the co-founders and engineers. Was the interface intuitive? Not exactly. CTAs weren’t clear enough - so we added drop shadows. 2. Was the concept and gameplay of Kuma San interesting? “How can I interact with him?” was a question we ended up addressing in the title screen and onboarding flow. 3. Was the artwork appealing? Yes! The purpose was to validate the intuitiveness of the user flow. Was the progression natural? Do users know how to expand/collapse modules? Is the information hierarchy and font clear? I learned that it was not easy to differentiate the modules when they were collapsed. After discussing the strategy on how to scale the product, we decided having a modular system would save crucial development time in the long run and provide flexibility at the same time.
